The objective of the project was to increase the capacity of the Ministry of Regional Development to submit well-prepared project proposals for investment funding under the Phare 2001 Small Scale Business Infrastructure Grant Scheme.  Thereby, the Government of the Czech Republic stands better posed to benefit from the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund and to promote the economic and social cohesion in relation to the 3 target NUTS II regions of Central Moravia, North-West Bohemia and Ostravsko.

This project provided Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and municipalities (local and regional authorities) with permanent technical assistance to prepare and implement Phare 2001 Small Scale Infrastructure projects, able to create an adequate consulting knowledge and experience for the Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund implementation in the Czech Republic after accession.

Assistance was provided in preparation and implementation of Feasibility Studies, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Tender Dossier for Works or Supply and other project documentation in accordance with the Financing Memorandum aimed at improving the project preparation investment environment  in the Czech Republic.

Among the projects that were developed are: Municipality Olomouc - Industrial Park-  Šlechtitelů street, Municipality of Zabreh - Zabreh Railway Station, Municipality of  Vsetín - Industrial Zone Bobrky – Vsetín, Municipality of Valašské Meziříčí - Industrial Zone Lešná - Valašské Meziříčí,  Municipality Lipník nad Bečvou - Industrial zone, Municipality of Litovel - Litovel – Industrial zone, Municipality of Ostrov - Industrial Zone Ostrov, Stage II, Town Nový Jičín - Municipal Business Zone Nový Jičín
