Euroconsultants S.A., and International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), its long-standing partner in international innovation infrastructure advisory services, are assisting Andorra Research + Innovation in the “Elaboration of the Strategy and Roadmap for the establishment of the Andorra Innovation District”.

Andorra Research + Innovation is a government agency focused to generating and promoting knowledge, providing innovative solutions for sustainable development, and contributing to the diversification of the Andorran economy.

Currently, Andorra Research + Innovation is promoting the development of an Innovation District in the country, drawing on the expertise of Euroconsultants S.A. and IASP to support the process.

The Andorran innovation ecosystem presents significant and unique opportunities for the development of innovative approaches and solutions in domains and markets such as sports, health, well-being, IT, tourism, sustainability, biotech, fintech, etc. Andorra boasts an excellent and safe natural environment, an international, business friendly framework and proximity to significant European markets (Spain and France). A new Digital economy and entrepreneurship Law is underway, which could enable, among others various international ‘sandbox’ approaches in health and fintech.

Euroconsultants’ approach of the project includes reviewing of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Strategy and mapping the key priority areas, key actors, infrastructure, and resources. Euroconsultants S.A. is conducting face- to- face and virtual meetings and interviews with key stakeholders in Andorra’s innovation ecosystem, including government and research, academic, entrepreneurial, and financial actors to extract useful insights about the local innovation ecosystem. 

Euroconsultants S.A. work will culminate to the development of the Strategy and Roadmap for the development of the Andorra Innovation District or Zone. The new structure which shall coordinate the various actors, capitalize existing initiatives, infrastructure, and resources, maximize synergies and complement with missing components of the Andorra innovation ecosystem.
